Menlo Worldwide Announces Two New RFID Compliance Solutions
Business Wire, March 3, 2005
REDWOOD CITY, Calif. -- Company Integrates Operational Expertise with Leading Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) Technology to Help Customers Meet Compliance Mandates
Menlo Worldwide Inc., a subsidiary of CNF Inc. (NYSE:CNF) announced today that it has developed two new low-cost RFID compliance solutions for its customers: Tag & Ship, and Tag & Ship Plus. These versatile packages combine Menlo's supply chain and operational expertise with leading RFID technology to enable customers to attain compliance with the RFID supply chain mandates set forth by many large retailers. Menlo's solutions include all of the necessary software, RFID hardware, and service necessary to help customers put together a completely RFID-compliant operation.
"Tag & Ship and Tag & Ship Plus are completely customer-driven solutions," said David Hushbeck, director of DirectTech for Menlo Worldwide. "Our customers told us they need an affordable solution that will meet the mandated compliance requirements, provide room for growth and easily integrate into their current processes."
The major difference between Menlo's RFID offerings and that of other compliance software providers is that Menlo's is backed by decades of experience implementing and operating supply management solutions for its customers. "Our expertise enhances the day one effectiveness of our RFID solutions and helps our customers identify opportunities for the downstream benefits of RFID, where ROI will be found," said Hushbeck.
With Tag & Ship, RFID tags are applied according to compliance specifications at the case and pallet level. This turnkey solution includes configuration and training that enables Menlo's customers' operations to be completely compliant with retailers' RFID requirements.
Tag & Ship Plus provides RFID shipping portals for final tag verification during the shipping process. The additional reporting feature that comes with Tag & Ship Plus allows customers to produce various reports to improve overall compliance performance and tracking.
Menlo worked with Shipcom Inc., a leading provider of enterprise RFID solutions for supply chain automation and asset tracking initiatives, to develop Tag & Ship and Tag & Ship Plus. Both offerings are powered by Shipcom Inc.'s CATAMARAN software, which may be expanded as business and RFID needs grow. Through CATAMARAN(R), Shipcom's flagship product, Menlo is able to provide rapid connectivity to enterprise supply chain solutions.
"Shipcom has a history of rapid, robust implementations. This package takes the industry to the next level," said Abeezar Tyebji, chief executive officer of Shipcom Wireless.
