Helical: Siemens and EIT Announce Verizon Network Upgrade

HALIFAX, Nova Scotia -- The Helical Corporation Inc. ("Helical") (TSX VENTURE:HSI) announced today that its wholly owned subsidiary EIT Inc. ("EIT") has been notified by its partner, Siemens Communications ("Siemens"), that Siemens has signed a contract with Verizon under which Siemens will upgrade all of the DCO switching systems currently deployed in Verizon's public telephone network throughout various regions of the USA. Siemens did not disclose the value of this contract from Verizon but the work entails upgrades to approximately 70 DCO switching systems. "This is very exiting for EIT " stated Peter Lyons, President and CEO. "EIT will be undertaking all of the installation work for Siemens for this project, and I estimate it to be worth about $350,000, with the contact work completed in the May-June 2005 timeframe" continued Lyons.
