Webserver Stress Tool 7 Simulates up to 10,000 Web Users; Testing Web Servers with up to 24 Million Page Views Per Day

Business Wire, March 30, 2005

FUERTH, Germany -- Paessler today has announced the release of Webserver Stress Tool 7, a new version that adds a scripting language and can create much higher loads. With the new URL scripts the user has complete control over the URL pattern that is tested.

Webserver Stress Tool is a comprehensive HTTP-client/server test application designed to pinpoint critical issues in your web server that may prevent optimal performance. By simulating the HTTP requests generated by hundreds or even thousands of users, you can test your web server performance under normal and excessive loads to ensure that critical information and services are available at speeds your end-users expect.

Detailed test logs and several easy-to-read graphs make analyzing results a snap. Webserver Stress Tool for Windows (98/ME/NT/2000/XP/2003) can benchmark almost any web server (e.g. static pages, JSPs/ASPs, or CGIs) for performance, load, and stress-tests.

New features included in Version 7:

--added scripting language for unlimited URL configuration

--much more testing power and faster processing

--can simulate up to 10,000 simultaneous and independent users

--redesigned interface makes it easier to set up tests

Paessler has successfully tested Webserver Stress Tool 7 with:

--up to 500 MBit/s network load

--more than 1 million pageviews per hour and

--up to 10,000 simultaneous users

Cleo Communications software engineer, Ann Marie Manzitti Steichmann, is part of the team developing Cleo Communications' Transaction Processor and Transaction Designer products. "Without being able to test these solutions and give specifics on the number of transactions they can process, we would not be able to provide valuable marketing information for them or assure customers they were reliable," she says.

From Fortune 50 to Fortune 1000, global companies are putting Webserver Stress Tool to use in a variety of industries. Customers include America Online, AT&T Broadband, CNET.com, Dell, IBM, Intel, KPMG Consulting, Macromedia, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Oracle Consulting.

A fully functional trial version can be download from www.paessler.com/webstress. Licenses for Webserver Stress Tool 7 can be purchased in the Paessler Online Store starting at $199.95 USD.
