Teamstudio Releases Free Script Browser Tool; Helps Users Navigate the LotusScript Code within IBM Lotus Notes Databases

Business Wire, March 30, 2005

BEVERLY, Mass. -- Teamstudio, the global leader in developing tactical software tools for Lotus Notes(R) and Domino(R) application developers and administrators, announced today the release of Teamstudio Script Browser, available for free download from the company's Web site. Teamstudio Script Browser was designed to help developers fully utilize and navigate through the LotusScript code stored within IBM Lotus Notes databases.

The features of Teamstudio Script Browser are those available in most IDEs, except Domino Designer. Created in response to documented developer frustration, Teamstudio Script Browser offers a way to mitigate the tedium of using only the native script tools in Domino Designer. According to Teamstudio's Notes Development Manager, Craig Schumann, "Originally, I wrote Script Browser for myself, and quickly found it to be an indispensable tool. It immediately saved me countless hours of tedium and aggravation, and we saw that this could be an invaluable tool for other developers."

Beta-tester Bill Buchan of HADSL adds, "I presented on object oriented programming at Lotusphere, and can say that the Teamstudio Script Browser is an invaluable addition to the professional LotusScript developer. It's a very simple, quick utility that literally understands tens of thousands of lines of LotusScript, and hundreds of design elements. It pinpoints what signature a function is, where it is, and finally makes coding object-orientated programming a pleasure in Domino."

Teamstudio Script Browser displays all classes and functions from the main tree, with three tabs that sort code by script library, class, or call. Other functional features include:

--the name of the script library in which the function is found

--the line number on which the function is defined within the script library

--how the function was declared, which is especially useful for understanding which parameters to pass to a function

Teamstudio Script Browser is accessible from the toolbar in ND6 or the SmartIcon bar in Notes R5. The tool is being offered free of charge and can be downloaded from the Teamstudio Web site at www.teamstudio.com.
