Pegasystems Achieves IBM Grid Computing Validation of its J2EE BPM Suite; IBM's WebSphere Grid Drives Massive Scale and Resiliency
Business Wire, March 31, 2005
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Pegasystems Inc. (NASDAQ: PEGA), the leading provider of smart business process management (BPM) software, today announced IBM's validation for Grid Computing of the Pegasystems' J2EE SmartBPM Suite including PegaRULES Process Commander.
Pegasystems' technical leadership was demonstrated while operating with IBM's "Parallel Services" Grid Strategy, specifically designed for solutions architected to leverage Grid computing power. The comprehensive testing occurred at the IBM Innovation centers in Waltham, MA (US) and Hursley, England (UK).
Pegasystems used the IBM WebSphere J2EE platform running simultaneously across geographically dispersed Linux servers on pSeries, xSeries and zSeries hardware. This deployment model demonstrates PegaRULES Process Commander engines orchestrating parallel web services across heterogeneous hardware platforms on multiple continents.
"Our customers are looking for agility and productivity," said Jay Sherry, Vice President of BPM and Solution Marketing for Pegasystems. "This Grid deployment model strategically complements our multi-tier Web/EJB model and JMS, web services and JCA connectivity. Pegasystems change-aware, self-distributing J2EE component technology lets customers specialize rules and processes to respond instantly to shifting conditions. This validation shows how we leverage IBM's market-leading WebSphere and DB2 platforms to deliver flexible and resilient SmartBPM solutions.
"Pegasystems chose one of the most challenging validation strategies to date. IBM's Strategy 5 test involves the parallel deployment of web services in a distributed grid. The IBM Grid support is a demonstration of how Pegasystems is responding to the needs of the world's most sophisticated customers."
