Lions Gate Entertainment Announces That Registration Statement for 2.9375% Senior Subordinated Convertible Notes Has Been Declared Effective by the Securities and Exchange Commission

SANTA MONICA, Calif. & NORTH VANCOUVER, British Columbia -- Lions Gate Entertainment Corp. (NYSE:LGF) (TSX:LGF) announced today that the Registration Statement on Form S-3 that it filed on February 4, 2005 has been declared effective by the Securities and Exchange Commission. Lions Gate Entertainment Corp. filed the Registration Statement in connection with the October 2004 private offering by Lions Gate Entertainment Inc., its wholly owned subsidiary, of 2.9375% Senior Subordinated Convertible Notes due 2024.
The Registration Statement is available for use by the noteholders to resell the previously issued notes and the common shares of Lions Gate Entertainment Corp. that can be issued upon conversion of those notes. The company will not receive any proceeds from any resale of the securities by the selling securityholders.
