Sychron Announces Microsoft .NET and SQL Server Support in Upgrade to Market-Leading Sychron OnDemand Desktop Product
Business Wire, March 7, 2005
SAN MATEO, Calif. -- Sychron Inc., a leader in policy-based IT automation, today announced a significant upgrade to its breakthrough solution for policy-based IT automation. Sychron's OnDemand Desktop is a software product that enables rapid virtualization, configuration and deployment of applications and services for any industry standard client hardware, when and where they are needed.
The new version of the OnDemand Desktop includes .NET support within the Sychron Web Portal, an option for Microsoft SQL Server support for archiving, and enhanced diagnostic logging of virtual machine operation. The new version of OnDemand Desktop integrates seamlessly with Microsoft Virtual Server 2005 to provide automated virtual desktop management across multiple physical servers.
"We believe the key components of the IT infrastructure of the future centers include virtual or stateless clients, shared servers and shared storage, and a service-oriented application architecture. The key to the efficient operation of that infrastructure is policy-based automation," said Beatriz V. Infante, CEO of Sychron. "Our support of the Microsoft .NET platform is the next logical step in the evolution of our product roadmap, since Microsoft provides what our customers need to develop and deploy a Web service-connected IT architecture."
At the core of the Sychron architecture is a massively scalable, real-time policy engine that enables virtualization of both server and desktop resources. Sychron supports mixed Windows and Linux environments on both client and server, and can interface with virtually any IT resource through standards-based APIs. Sychron can be rapidly deployed for any combination of blade server, OS virtualization product, and provisioning and configuration tools, adding value to existing systems management and infrastructure investments.
