LTX Announces Silicon Image Selects Fusion; Fusion HFi in production for SATA and PCI Express devices
Business Wire, March 7, 2005
WESTWOOD, Mass. -- LTX Corporation (Nasdaq: LTXX), a leading supplier of semiconductor test solutions, today announced that Silicon Image has selected LTX's Fusion HFi test system. Silicon Image, Inc. a leader in multi-gigabit semiconductor solutions for the secure transmission and storage of rich digital media, is using Fusion as a key development and production test platform for its storage, consumer electronics and PC products.
"Our choice of Fusion HFi was driven by the testing requirements associated with our advanced devices, incorporating industry standards and technologies such as SATA 1.0a and SATA II, PCI Express, and TMDS(R) interfaces such as HDMI(TM) and DVI for PCs and consumer electronics devices," noted Robert Bagheri, executive vice president of operations for Silicon Image. "Fusion provides multiple time domains and high-speed data rates to maintain comprehensive fault coverage. LTX's unique GTO option and SerDes testing expertise provide asynchronous, high-speed data capabilities that meet SATA requirements. Furthermore, Fusion is a robust, production-proven tester that provides fast test times and superior multisite capabilities to ensure we hit our aggressive cost-of-test targets."
"Working with a market leader like Silicon Image requires a full understanding of their technical and economic challenges, and the ability to provide the technology, test strategies and applications expertise necessary to meet those challenges," said David Tacelli, president and chief operating officer for LTX. "Silicon Image's choice of LTX demonstrates not only the power of the Fusion test platform today, but also their confidence in our ability to address new test challenges created by their ever-advancing device portfolio."
