Acacia Technologies Licenses Digital Video Production Patents to Leitch Technology

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. -- Acacia Research Corporation (Nasdaq: ACTG) (Nasdaq: CBMX) announced today that TechSearch LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary that is part of the Acacia Technologies group, has entered into a non-exclusive license covering a portfolio of patents that apply to digital video production with Leitch Technology Corporation, which designs and distributes high performance video systems for the professional television industry.
The patents relate to features that can be found in production video processing equipment and cover, among other things, improved methods of equipment interconnection, aspects of graphical user interface displays, and automation of video processing. These features allow ease of equipment interconnection, clearer information display, and automation of video production tasks previously performed manually. Other aspects of the technologies generally relate to automatic color correction, commonly used when transferring film to video, and certain 3D effects, commonly used in video scene transitions.
