Empirix Completes Hammer XMS Interoperability Testing with SAFARI C3 ; Joins Cedar Point ServiceClass Partners Program
Business Wire, March 8, 2005
BEDFORD, Mass. -- Empirix Inc., the industry's leading supplier of VoIP testing systems, today announced its entry into Cedar Point's ServiceClass(TM) Partners Program. The announcement follows completion of interoperability testing between the Hammer XMS(TM) next-generation monitoring system for VoIP service providers and Cedar Point's SAFARI C(3) Media Switching System. In addition, field testing was performed by both companies at a joint cable MSO customer site.
The Hammer XMS delivers the full range of scalable, carrier-class VoIP monitoring capabilities required for successful deployment of VoIP services by cable MSOs.
Cedar Point's ServiceClass Partners Program helps accelerate voice deployments and new revenue opportunities for cable operators by bringing together "best-in-class" voice products and services into a set of standards-based, packaged solutions.
"Our team has integrated monitoring and service assurance capabilities into SAFARI C(3) as part of our commitment to providing the simplest, most cost-effective voice solution for the cable industry," said Dave Spear, executive vice president, strategy and market development for Cedar Point. "The Hammer XMS further enables our customers to monitor and troubleshoot voice traffic in the timely fashion needed to deliver high quality, highly reliable voice services."
"Cable system operators understand that customers are seeking a voice experience that meets or exceeds the level of service quality offered by incumbent providers," said Steven Gladstone, VP and general manager of the Empirix Communications Infrastructure Group. "The addition of Hammer XMS to the ServiceClass Partners program provides cable operators with the VoIP network monitoring capabilities needed to ensure delivery of the levels of quality and reliability required to attract and retain customers."
The Hammer XMS combines patent-pending, high-performance probes with a highly scalable architecture, enabling cable operators to efficiently monitor customer service level agreements and quickly identify and troubleshoot problems. The system tracks all VoIP and TDM protocol activity as well as media quality in real time for every call, 24x7. Data from multiple remote probes is correlated and centralized, making reports and real time diagnostic data accessible through a Web interface. Configuration options range from cost effective single-site probe deployment for remote turn-up monitoring and trouble-shooting, to carrier scale deployment monitoring.
