Xspedius Turnaround Leads to Record Revenue and Positive Cash Flow
Business Wire, March 9, 2005
O'FALLON, Mo. -- 27 months after the consolidation of the companies that led to its birth, Xspedius Communications, LLC, a leading facilities-based integrated communications provider, ended 2004 with record revenue and positive cash flow.
For the fiscal year ending in December, 2004, Xspedius recorded annual revenues in excess of $215 million, an increase of 9% over 2003. In addition to completing its fifth consecutive quarter of sequentially improving EBITDA, the company achieved positive cash flow during the fourth quarter of 2004. This landmark for Xspedius marks a complete turnaround for the companies that were consolidated under the Xspedius logo - the operations of Xspedius LLC and e.spire Communications in 2002, and the Texas assets of mPower Communications in 2003 - a rare accomplishment in the turbulent telecommunications field.
"Our results demonstrate our ability to increase revenue, operate an efficient telecommunications company and manage our finances in a prudent manner, enabling us to grow in this highly competitive market place," said Mark W. Senda, President and CEO of Xspedius. "By maintaining a consecutive series of EBITDA positive quarters and now achieving free cash flow, we have without question affirmed the validity of our business plan."
All product segments helped contribute to Xspedius' growth in fiscal 2004, including data and voice, integrated services, Internet and carrier services. Xspedius has made no acquisitions of companies or networks since the initial deals that formed the company in late 2002 and early 2003, so the growth in 2004 was organic, an important indication of customers' acceptance of Xspedius' products in the marketplace.
"We remain on target for our projected annual growth of more than twice the competitive telecommunications industry rate over the next five years," Senda said. "As we move forward into 2005, Xspedius is positioned to leverage exciting opportunities to improve our business efficiency, while offering new technology and better services to our customers."
