Business Wire, May 10, 2005

MELVILLE, N.Y. -- FalconStor Software, Inc. (Nasdaq:FALC), a leading developer of network storage software solutions, today announced that Alan W. Kaufman, a forty year veteran of the computer, software, and IT industries, has been elected to FalconStor's Board of Directors, bringing a wealth of first hand sales, management and channel-development expertise to the company.

Kaufman's four decades of channel and direct sales management experience and innovative strategies for business growth will be invaluable as FalconStor continues its efforts to strengthen and expand its current reseller and distribution channels on a world wide basis.

"We are delighted that Alan has agreed to join our Board of Directors," said ReiJane Huai, Chairman and CEO, FalconStor Software. "The majority of the FalconStor management team had the privilege of working with Alan on a day to day basis when he was executive vice president of worldwide sales at Cheyenne Software. His direction of a highly motivated and enterprising sales force helped establish Cheyenne as the undisputed industry leader in storage management at that time with over 70 percent market share."

"As a member of the FalconStor Board of Directors, I am pleased to again be working with many of the finest storage technologists and innovators in the industry today," said Kaufman. "FalconStor is a driving force in the storage industry, and I look forward to being a part of the team that is building a world class business based on the development of solutions that effectively address real-world customer needs."

In addition to Cheyenne Software, Kaufman's extensive career includes a tenure as Chairman and CEO at QueryObject Systems Corp., an early stage provider of software to the business intelligence market, which he guided through a successful IPO and a re-positioning of the company from a data mining services consulting practice into a software product company selling proprietary software. Kaufman has also held various sales and marketing management positions at IBM and Digital Equipment Corporation.
