Minus K Technology, Inc. Announces New Compact High Performance Vibration Isolation Platforms; New BM-6 and BM-8 Series Offer Low Profile for Bench Top Applications
Business Wire, May 10, 2005
INGLEWOOD, Calif. -- Minus K(R) Technology, a leading manufacturer of vibration isolation products, announces two new lines of compact high performance vibration isolation platforms. The new BM-6 and BM-8 series of low profile bench top platforms incorporates the Minus K patented Negative Stiffness(TM) technology, providing market leading performance in a new compact form factor.
"We have been successfully delivering vibration isolation solutions for some of the most demanding applications in industry and the scientific community", said David Platus, president and chief executive officer of Minus K Technology. "We are very excited about the new BM-6 and BM-8 series, and anticipate that our new low profile offerings will be performance and value leaders in their class, delivering cost-effective high performance isolation to an increasing number of new end-user and OEM applications."
The new BM-6 and BM-8 series offer a low 4.5-inch profile, and a 1.5 Hz horizontal natural frequency in an easy to use and install passive platform with exceptionally low cost of ownership. The BM-6 offers a 2.5 Hz vertical natural frequency, and the BM-8 offers 0.5 Hz vertical natural frequency. Both the BM-6 and BM-8 will support payloads of up to 105 lb (48 kg). The Minus K patented Negative Stiffness technology offers performance that exceeds costlier active and air-based solutions, and without the need for high mass or expensive facilities for power and air. The Negative Stiffness technology is extremely robust making installation, set up, and operation quick and easy, without special tools or measurements.
The BM-6, the first model to be released in the new compact isolator series, will be available in June 2005 starting at a list price of $1,800. The BM-8 will be available in the third quarter of 2005. The BM-6 will be displayed at the NSTI Nanotech 2005 exhibit in Anaheim, California May 9-10, Booth #710.
