AirDefense Named One of the Top 100 Private Companies in North America by Red Herring Magazine
Business Wire, May 11, 2005
ATLANTA -- AirDefense, the leader in anywhere, anytime wireless security, today announced that it has been selected by Red Herring magazine as one of the Top 100 Private Companies in North America. AirDefense was chosen from a list of more than 900 companies. This is the second time in recent months that AirDefense has received an award from Red Herring. In December, 2004, AirDefense won the prestigious 2004 Top 100 Innovators Award.
The Red Herring 100 Award recognizes AirDefense's dedication to leadership in the wireless LAN monitoring and intrusion prevention industry and distinguishes them as a major influence on the technology industry's future. Red Herring magazine's editorial staff rigorously evaluated all nominations and selected AirDefense to the Top 100 through a careful analysis of the company's financial data and subjective criteria, including quality of management, execution of strategy and dedication to research and development.
"AirDefense is delighted to be recognized as one of the Red Herring 100 Private Companies," said Anil Khatod, Air Defense's president and CEO. "AirDefense is the pioneer of wireless LAN monitoring and intrusion prevention and our entire team should be congratulated for their work in building a product line and company second-to-none in the industry."
Red Herring's lists of private companies are an important part of the magazine's tradition of identifying new and innovative technology companies and entrepreneurs. Companies like Google and eBay were spotted in their early days by Red Herring editors as those that would change the way we live and work.
The AirDefense family of products provides wireless intrusion prevention based on patent-pending technology that identifies wireless activities anywhere, anytime. The flagship product, AirDefense Enterprise, uses distributed sensors to monitor the airwaves and communicate back to a central server appliance. The server correlates and analyzes the data to provide scalable, centralized management of all wireless deployments by providing rogue detection, policy enforcement, intrusion prevention and health monitoring of the wireless network.
