Acme Packet, the Leader in Session Border Control, Named a Red Herring 100 Company
Business Wire, May 11, 2005
BURLINGTON, Mass. -- Award recognizes 100 private companies in North America that drive the technology industry's future
Acme Packet(R), the leader in session border control, today announced that it has been named one of the Red Herring 100 Private Companies of North America. This accolade comes on the heels of several significant publicly announced customer wins for Acme Packet, including China Unicom, Telefonica, Telenor, and Telstra.
"Five years after the dot-com bubble burst, innovation and entrepreneurship are thriving. The companies on this list are proof," said Red Herring editor-in-chief Joel Dreyfuss.
"Acme Packet's strong customer base, global partnerships, and overall leadership position in session border control were among the factors that led to our selection for this prestigious award," commented Andy Ory, president and CEO, Acme Packet. "Our Net-Net products are the most scalable, feature-rich session border controllers available, which explains our strong quarter over quarter revenue growth, our success with tier 1 service providers, and our over 100 service provider customers."
Red Herring's lists of private companies are an important part of the magazine's tradition of identifying new and innovative technology companies and entrepreneurs. Red Herring's editorial staff rigorously evaluated more than 900 private companies through a careful analysis of financial data and subjective criteria, including quality of management, execution of strategy, and dedication to research and development. Red Herring 100 companies will be presenting their business model and strategy at the Red Herring Spring conference. Red Herring Spring will take place May 17-19 at the Monterey Plaza Hotel in Monterey, California.
