CCC Teams Up with Duncan Systems and Urban Publications to Expand Collision Estimating Services; Footprint to Include Recreational Vehicle and Motorcycle Estimating
Business Wire, May 12, 2005
CHICAGO -- CCC Information Services Inc. ("CCC") is increasing its collision estimating industry footprint by entering into agreements with information providers in the recreational vehicle (RV) and motorcycle industries. Through agreements with Duncan Systems - the leading RV estimating data provider -- and Urban Publications - the top motorcycle, ATV and scooter estimating provider-- CCC has become a reseller of these companies' respective estimating products and will also begin development on integrating these product offerings with CCC's other estimating solutions.
CCC, a subsidiary of CCC Information Services Group Inc. (Nasdaq:CCCG), is a leading supplier of information technology software and services to the auto-claims and collision-repair industries.
"Collaborating with industry leaders like Duncan Systems and Urban Publications is consistent with CCC's strategy of providing our customers with the tools necessary to succeed within the collision-repair industry," said Scott Stein, director of Strategic Alliances for CCC. " The move into specialty estimating is a natural progression for CCC, considering the demand in the marketplace."
Recent data reveals that the demand for specialty estimating solutions is on the rise. Motorcycle and ATV sales recently recorded a 12th consecutive year of sales increases, with more than 1 million two-wheeled vehicles sold in the last year alone. The RV marketplace also continues to enjoy strong sales. This strength is illustrated by a 15.4 percent increase over 2003 sales numbers, pushing the number of RVs currently on the road to approximately 7.2 million units.
Urban Publications, Inc., assembles original equipment manufacturer data (such as part prices, labor times and graphics) representing an estimated 95 percent of the industry. These manufacturers include Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Buell and Harley-Davidson. "We are pleased to provide CCC with our solution that meets the needs of today's marketplace," said Urban Publications' President Barney Prignano.
Duncan Systems has been working within the RV industry since 1967, building upon its comprehensive RV estimating database. "Our claims consultants are licensed adjusters, having more than 200 combined years of experience in the RV industry," said Duncan Chairman and CEO Ron Duncan. "It seemed to be a natural fit to link our industry expertise with that of CCC, a knowledgeable force in the automotive claims and collision-repair industries for 25 years. "
