SCS Enhances Security Consulting Portfolio with Cisco Systems Lifecycle Services Approach; SCS is First Company in Singapore to Benefit from Cisco's Partner Business Consulting Program
Business Wire, May 13, 2005
SINGAPORE -- Singapore Computer Systems Limited ("SCS"), a leading information and communications service provider in the Asia-Pacific region, has enhanced its security consulting portfolio with the Cisco Systems(R) (NASDAQ:CSCO) lifecycle services approach. SCS is the first company in Singapore to benefit from this approach introduced through the Cisco(R) Partner Business Consulting (PBC) Program.
PBC is a key component of Cisco's partner enablement strategy. Through an intensive engagement process, Cisco's services experts help partners develop services capabilities through documented best practices, which are based on metrics that measure business success.
"We are impressed by the intensity of detail that the PBC process has provided. It certainly helped us to develop the business model for our new security consulting service portfolio," said Mr Vincent Lim, senior vice president for infrastructure, SCS. "According to IDC, the Singapore Security Services market is forecast to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 4% from US$64.08 million in 2004 to US$74.38 million in 2008. There is a substantial market opportunity."
SCS security services will incorporate Cisco Systems lifecycle services approach, which provides a consistent, proven methodology across six basic phases: prepare, plan, design, implement, operate, and optimize. Through PBC, Cisco and SCS have defined a full portfolio of complementary service components, enabling easier integration, higher availability, and better scalability of network deployments to keep pace with business and customer demands.
"Our channel partners are a very important component of our business model, and it is essential for Cisco to provide them with the best-available tools. The PBC program is another way Cisco can help our partners to increase their profitability, by offering greater value add and helping build the productivity of their own customers who are using Cisco technology in their businesses," said Craig Gledhill, managing director, Singapore and Brunei, Cisco Systems.
SCS security services emphasize the ongoing process of managing an organization's network security requirements. The services include: Security Needs Planning; Security Implementation Consultancy; Security Operations Consultancy; Security Compliance Review; Penetration Testing; Security Hardening; Education and Awareness.
