LexisNexis Martindale-Hubbell Introduces New Online Law Firm Marketing Vehicles for Targeting Clients; Sponsored Links, Content Sponsorships Allow Law Firms to Attract Targeted New Client Leads to their Web Site

Business Wire, May 16, 2005

NEW PROVIDENCE, N.J. -- LexisNexis(R) Martindale-Hubbell(R), the leading client development company for the legal profession, has introduced two Web-based marketing opportunities for law firms that wish to attract highly targeted prospective new clients to their own Web site.

Both of the new offerings are sponsorships on Martindale-Hubbell's popular lawyers.com Web site. Lawyers.com, which is powered by a Martindale-Hubbell database of 440,000 lawyers and law firms, is the leading destination on the Internet for individuals and small business professionals seeking an attorney.

The two new online marketing vehicles are:

--Sponsored Links

Sponsored Links allow law firms to display their key attributes to individuals and small business owners who are searching for a lawyer in their area. The links are displayed when a lawyers.com visitor searches for a lawyer within the specific area of practice (e.g., family law, immigration, etc.) and geographic area (e.g., Los Angeles County, Cook County, etc.) where a law firm has purchased their sponsorship. Sponsored Links display the firm name and link to the firm profile on lawyers.com, as well as a unique tagline description of the firm that links directly to the firm's Web site.

Law firms can choose from three levels of geographic coverage for their Sponsored Links: Nationwide, which starts as low as $900 per month depending on the area of practice selected; statewide, which starts at $160 per month; and county, which starts as low as $50 per month.

--Content Sponsorships

Content Sponsorships allow law firms to enhance their visibility on lawyers.com when users research legal topics of interest on the site. They display in state-specific articles or message boards within legal topics such as the following: divorce, bankruptcy, personal injury, criminal law, employment and estate planning. Content Sponsorships start as low as $150 per month.

"These new Web marketing vehicles allow our law firm customers to deliver their messages directly to prospective clients who are actively seeking legal counsel within their unique area of expertise and within their geographic location," said Paul Gazzolo, chief operating officer of New Providence, N.J.-based LexisNexis Martindale-Hubbell. "These types of marketing opportunities deliver on the true value of the Internet as a marketing medium by allowing law firms to target the specific types of clients they are seeking in order to grow their practices."

According to Gazzolo, the two new sponsorship offerings were introduced to the legal marketplace in the first quarter of 2005 and there has already been strong demand for both products from law firms nationwide.
