Deltek's Cindy Kalkwarf and Protiviti's Lawrence Lake to Speak at QIO Tri-Regional Conference for Non-Profit Sector

Who: Cindy Kalkwarf, Product Director of Deltek, and Lawrence
Lake, Managing Director of Protiviti, will be speaking on
the ways in which best practices in financial accounting
have been impacted by recent trends and legislation
surrounding the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX). Lake brings 25
years of experience in healthcare, technology and
regulatory compliance to Protiviti, a leading provider of
independent internal audit and risk consulting services.
Kalkwarf, a 20-year-veteran in finance and accounting,
heads Deltek's SOX Task Force. With more than 8,000
customers, Herndon, VA-based Deltek is a leading provider
of ERP solutions for project-based businesses and
professional services firms.
What: Lake will address how nonprofit organizations will be
impacted by the latest state and federal legislation for
SOX, and Kalkwarf will discuss the importance of aligning
technology solutions with SOX regulatory standards. Both
industry experts will describe how SOX has greatly
expanded corporate governance requirements, protecting
investors by improving the accuracy and reliability of
corporate financial disclosures. Although SOX was enacted
to eliminate financial misstatements for public companies,
its principles form the foundation of sound financial
management for all companies, including those in the
nonprofit sector.
