Global Logistics Giant Selects PlanView; Deutsche Post WorldNet Using IT Portfolio Management Solution for IT Governance
Business Wire, May 16, 2005
AUSTIN, Texas -- PlanView, the leading provider of comprehensive IT Portfolio Management solutions, announced it has been selected by Deutsche Post WorldNet, the leading global logistic group, to provide its project portfolio management software to manage the company's best practice initiatives. The announcement came as Deutsche Post WorldNet addressed 650 CIOs during CIO IT Strategy Days in Hamburg.
The PlanView software is used as a standard solution at Deutsche Post WorldNet to optimize the capacity and reliability of the company's service divisions as well as promote innovation within the organization.
"Our business divisions use the PlanView solution as part of our global IT strategy to implement new processes for project, program and portfolio management," said Stefan Kisslinger, head of the IT Program Office / Business Division at MAIL/Deutsche Post WorldNet. "DHL and Deutsche Post conducted an extensive evaluation of IT project and portfolio management solutions before selecting the best one for our organization. Now all business areas have successfully implemented PlanView as a standard."
"This success highlights PlanView's ability to offer global organizations such as Deutsche Post WorldNet the visibility they need to make informed business decisions and focus limited resources on higher-value work," said Thomas Chauchard, vice president Europe Operations at PlanView. "We are proud to be a partner in their continued success."
During his presentation at the conference, Kisslinger described his experience implementing PlanView: "In some areas PlanView has out-performed our requirements. With its clear concept of roles we are in a better position to aggregate projects and represent the value of single measures or entire programs. We are able to analyze and communicate results across the organization. PlanView also supports our entire business lifecycle. Because the solution encompasses opportunity and contract management, process configuration, time reporting, resource management, budget and risk control as well as quality testing, it has made a lot of other tools redundant."
