Business Wire, May 16, 2005
LIVONIA, Michigan -- ALT Software, Fujitsu Microelectronics America, Inc. (FMA) and STx (Silicon Turnkey Express) are pleased to announce that through close cooperation they are delivering the new GT3D Graphics Board and Development Kit; a PCI-104 3D graphics accelerator card with comprehensive support and custom integration services. Available as part of a development kit as well as in production quantities, the GT3D is the only 2D/3D accelerated PCI-104 graphics card on the market and will be available immediately, through ALT's sales team at http://www.altsoftware.com/products/graphics_hardware/gt3d.php.
> Based on the Fujitsu CoralP/PA graphics display controllers, and coupled with ALT's cross platform embedded OpenGL drivers, the GT3D is the ideal card for ruggedized, high performance graphics and is unique in its form factor, low cost, and extensive capabilities that include full OpenGL 1.3 support, LCD, VGA, and composite video output and on board video capture.Ideal for automotive, industrial control, and handheld applications, the GT3D meets or exceeds the most demanding design criteria for 3D display capabilities in a number of markets. STx and ALT have carefully designed the GT3D on an industry standard PC-104 card that exploits the unique features of the Coral-P/PA; delivering a graphics board with a seven-year minimum life cycle for both chip and board, low power (fanless), full industrial temperature standard for both chip and board (-40 degrees C to 85 degrees C, with 105 degrees C option), LCD (18bit standard), composite, S-video, VGA signals out; composite video in (decode); and 3.3V and 5.0V tolerance with on-board dynamic video source switching.
The GT3D Development Kit contains everything developers need to create a proof-of-concept or prototype for low power, ruggedized embedded products. The kit is supplied complete with a Freescale MPC5200 based Men Micro PP01 single board computer, an 8.4" TFT LCD panel, a CMOS video camera and the GT3D PC-104 graphics card itself. The software included boasts full support for the Fujitsu Coral P/PA graphics display controller with ALT's OpenGL binary driver and board support packages for Linux and other operating systems. Software and hardware developers will benefit from using the GT3D Developers Kit as a low cost base for Proof-of-Concept and/or rapid prototyping of graphics-rich navigation and driver information systems.
"As a worldwide leader in the development of embedded graphics display controllers, Fujitsu Microelectronics is pleased to work with ALT Software and STx," said George Wu, director of marketing for Technology Solutions Group of Fujitsu Microelectronics America. "By leveraging ALT's graphics software expertise and STx's design capabilities; customers can take advantage of the Fujitsu graphics display controllers with confidence."
