MetLife to Hold Stable Value Investor Day; Live Audio Webcast to be Available

NEW YORK -- MetLife, Inc. (NYSE: MET) announced today that it will hold its 2005 Stable Value Investor Day on Wednesday, May 25, 2005, from 9:00 a.m. to approximately 12:30 p.m. (ET).
MetLife presenters will include William J. Wheeler, executive vice president and chief financial officer; Stanley J. Talbi, senior vice president; Sherif Zakhary, vice president; Nan Tecotzky, vice president & actuary; Frank Donnantuano, managing director; and Robert W. Morgan, managing director and head of domestic portfolio management. The conference and accompanying presentation materials will provide an overview of MetLife's financial results, Retirement & Savings business, and general account portfolio management. In covering these topics, the conference will focus on stable value insurance products, which are offered through employer-sponsored retirement plans.
A live audio Webcast of the conference, including presentation materials, will be available via the Internet at www.metlife.com (through a link on the Investor Relations page). Those who want to listen via the Internet should go to the Web site at least fifteen minutes prior to the conference to download and install any necessary software. A replay of the conference will be available until 11:59 p.m. (ET) on Wednesday, June 1, 2005 at the same Web site beginning shortly after the Webcast.
