Retek Named VICS Award Finalist for Retail Supply Chain Solution
Business Wire, May 23, 2005
MINNEAPOLIS -- Retek has been named a VICS Collaborative Commerce Achievement Award "Best Third Party Provider" finalist for its Retek Xi retail application suite. Retek Xi applications integrate and streamline the extended retail enterprise, from customer to supplier. Global suppliers and retailers use Retek Xi to create, manage and fulfill demand.
The Retek Xi suite includes the leading CPFR(R) solution among global retailers and suppliers -- Retek Syncra Exchange. This solution collects, manages and analyzes supply and demand chain data to enable rapid response to changes in market conditions. Because Retek Xi employs retail industry standards, it enables retailers and suppliers to share consistent and accurate information such as promotion, sales and inventory data. Retailers and suppliers use this information to identify sales forecast exceptions, prevent out-of-stocks and reduce inventories.
Best Buy and Samsung, also named VICS finalists for "Best in VICS CPFR(R) Implementation," use Retek CPFR technology to drive product flow off of true customer demand. Best Buy and Samsung license the Retek CPFR solution through the Worldwide Retail Exchange (WWRE).
"We are very pleased to see Retek solutions in use around the world," said Matt Johnson, director of supply chain, Retek. "Retek Xi simplifies the retail environment across international lines and contributes to the success of both retailers and suppliers. It is gratifying to see its impact on the retail industry."
