Montana Pepsi Bottler Implementing Kaba Benzing Certified B-COMM Time and Labor System for SAP Solutions; Harrington Bottling Sought Integrated Timekeeping, Access Control Solution Using Single Point of Data Entry
Business Wire, May 24, 2005
MIRAMAR, Fla. -- Kaba Benzing America, the North American operating subsidiary of $900 million Kaba Holding AG and worldwide leader in enterprise workforce management systems, today announced that Harrington Bottling, a Pepsi bottling plant located in Butte, Montana, is implementing its B-COMM time and attendance and labor reporting software for SAP(R) solutions to integrate its timekeeping and access control functions using a single data entry point.
B-COMM time and attendance/labor reporting software for the SAP R/3(R) software solution links Kaba Benzing terminals and other hardware data devices to SAP R/3 Enterprise. It automates and validates the collection of employee and labor data for entry into mySAP(TM) ERP Human Capital Management (mySAP(TM) ERP HCM), the time management application, and other SAP applications.
"It was our desire to have an integrated system to provide timekeeping functionality and access control using a single point of data entry that first attracted us to the Kaba Benzing B-COMM for SAP solution," reports John Tierney, Director of the Project Office for Harrington Bottling. "Not only was the Kaba Benzing solution competitively priced, it offered robust Legic RFID card reader technology that should allow us to integrate with our existing security system."
The core of the B-COMM software is a SAP-certified interface that helps ensure faultless data exchange between the individual SAP applications and the data collection devices. This interface is kept current with all new technical developments for SAP solutions. All data maintenance takes place in the SAP solution. Since Harrington Bottling's implementation of SAP/R3 will not be complete until the 1st quarter of 2006, the ability of the Kaba Benzing solution to operate in a stand alone mode was an essential requirement for our operation.
"The final compelling component of the solution was the cost and time involved for implementation," Tierney emphasizes. "Kaba Benzing was able to meet our budget and time schedule and we expect the system to be fully functional and in production by August, 2005."
Harrington joins more than 900 other B-COMM installations worldwide using SAP solutions.
"In order to remain competitive, a multi-purpose enterprise such as Harrington must create more efficient and cost effective business practices throughout its organization," reports John Edwards, President and CEO of Kaba Benzing America. "Our SAP-certified interface will help Harrington quickly and seamlessly integrate its access control, data collection and labor reporting functions."
