On June 3 of World Environment Day Leading Academics and Industry Experts Present ``Plugging into the Future: Public+Private Partnering in Zurich for Sustainable Energy''

What: Zurich luminaries will be showcasing leading-edge technologies and the public-private partnering behind a greener Zurich at "Plugging into the Future: Public Private Partnering in Zurich for Sustainable Energy." This World Environment Day workshop, using the city of Zurich as a model, will provide the international delegation of mayors with a toolbox for creating greater sustainability in their cities. The event is open to the media and the public. Energy consumption is shockingly unequal across the globe. The "2000-Watt society" platform developed by the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich supports technical innovations that maintain yet balance the average energy consumption rate and further global prosperity. Zurich has adopted this platform by partnering with industry via innovative energy and building initiatives to increase quality of life. The strides Zurich has made toward sustainable urban development show that it is profitable and ecologically viable -- with partnership as the key to success.
