CA Certifies Viola Networks NetAlly RealTime Software with Unicenter NSM; Integrated VoIP Management Solution Provides Single Management Console for Visibility and Control over Converged Voice and Data Networks

Business Wire, May 3, 2005

KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa. -- Viola Networks, a provider of VoIP network performance assurance and assessment software, today announced that Computer Associates International, Inc. (CA) has certified its NetAlly RealTime software as ca smart(TM) interoperable with CA's Unicenter Network and Systems Management (NSM).

The integration of Unicenter NSM and Viola's NetAlly RealTime will enable the design and delivery of business communications based on the integration of Voice over IP (VoIP) technology and traditional data applications management capabilities. Receiving the ca smart(TM) seal of excellence, means NetAlly RealTime integrates seamlessly with CA's Unicenter NSM, enabling customers to take advantage of best-in-class enterprise technologies while minimizing cost, time-to-benefit and risk.

"To unlock the savings of a converged voice and data infrastructure, customers need to be able to ensure the 'VoIP-ability' of their enterprise networks on an ongoing basis," said Melvin Estrada, Business and Product Manager for Unicenter Network Management solutions at Computer Associates. "By using Viola's NetAlly RealTime in conjunction with Unicenter NSM, they can do so within the context of their overall enterprise management architecture -- thereby reducing their total cost of VoIP technology ownership even as they safeguard voice quality."

Viola's NetAlly RealTime enables customers to assess the readiness of their data networks for Voice over IP (VoIP) telephony services, eliminating the risk of poor voice call quality from an under-provisioned network, and to monitor the quality and continuity of voice services after VoIP services are operational. NetAlly RealTime then provides notification when call quality degrades below acceptable levels and diagnostic tools to accelerate the restoration of service.

The integration of Viola's NetAlly RealTime with Unicenter NSM provides a single network management console for Voice over IP and data management and it also provides an open and extensible architecture that will support mixed equipment vendor environments. The solution is designed to reduce the cost of support through proactive problem management and improve asset utilization with voice call volume and quality measurements to guide future capacity planning decisions.

"Industry analysts report that 85% of router-based networks are not ready for VoIP and our experience bears this out," according to Uri Feldman, CEO of Viola Networks. "With NetAlly RealTime, customers can manage the complete lifecycle for VoIP -- from design to deployment to service delivery. By integrating NetAlly RealTime with Unicenter NSM, the different worlds of Voice over IP and data infrastructures can finally be managed holistically."
