United Devices Taps Rob Beauchamp to Lead Business Development and Strategy; Role Includes Orchestrating Push into New Vertical Industry Segments
Business Wire, May 31, 2005
AUSTIN, Texas -- Rob Beauchamp has been named vice president of business development and strategy at United Devices(TM), the high performance computing infrastructure software and services company announced today.
As United Devices extends its expertise to new industry segments, Beauchamp will be charged with driving the company's overall strategic direction. His responsibilities include developing new business opportunities, establishing global distribution channels and broadening strategic business and technology partner initiatives worldwide.
"Rob brings more than 20 years experience in the development and promotion of large-scale enterprise software solutions through a variety of channels," said Ben Rouse, chief executive officer of United Devices. "He will be instrumental in helping United Devices push into new vertical markets and with driving adoption of new high performance computing infrastructure applications."
United Devices is an acknowledged leader in grid computing applications and dominates the field in global life sciences, one of the first industry segments to widely embrace distributed high-performance grid computing applications. Now United Devices plans to extend its expertise to other industries, providing infrastructure management applications to complement its grid offering.
"I'm excited to be a part of United Devices," says Beauchamp. "The company's proven technology and market position make it poised to significantly advance the utility of high-performance computing out of the laboratories and into the enterprise."
Prior to joining United Devices, Beauchamp served as a senior vice president at Initiate Systems Inc., where he led the team responsible for establishing the rapidly growing customer data integration market.
He became part of Initiate Systems when the company he earlier co-founded, Journee Software, was acquired in 2004. As the chief technology officer at Journee, Beauchamp was responsible for all corporate and product strategy including the definition of a new method of data integration that formed the foundation of the Journee product offering.
