Xerox Receives Highest I.T. Honor From 'Network Computing' Magazine

Business Wire, May 4, 2005

LAS VEGAS -- Today at Networld Interop, a leading information technology trade show, Network Computing magazine awarded Xerox Corporation (NYSE: XRX) a distinguished Well-Connected Award.

The Xerox WorkCentre(R) Pro C2636 advanced color multifunction system won the award because it led the peripheral category, surpassing competitive office products from Canon, Ricoh and Sharp.

The WorkCentre Pro C2636 color multifunction system was recognized by Network Computing magazine in a color MFP article earlier this year. The system was cited for its "slick features" and ease of use, as well as its overall design as a "full-fledged multifunction printer, rather than just a printer or copier with extra features tacked on." The Xerox MFP won the Editor's Choice with an overall rating of A-, a full grade ahead of any of its four competitors. This review and designation led to the WorkCentre Pro C2636's consideration for a Well-Connected Award.

"The Well-Connected Awards are the only industry awards given by technologists based on real-world product testing and evaluation. These awards take the pulse of the technology industry and reflect the best of what IT has to offer," said Fritz Nelson, vice president and group publisher of the Network Computing Enterprise Architecture Group.

"This is an important distinction from any other award program. The products selected in the Well-Connected Awards are unique because they have been graded with the same criteria IT professionals use to make purchasing decisions -- truly the most outstanding products and services available."

The Xerox WorkCentre Pro C2636 - along with its family of multifunction systems, the WorkCentre Pro C2128 and C3545 - is designed for networked offices that need to handle multiple tasks like printing, copying and scanning simultaneously and without interruption. Starting at $12,995, these MFPs offer affordable, high-quality color output at the highest speed in their class with features that IT professionals require, including intuitive management tools for easy installation and administration.

"Xerox strives to offer superior color document technology for the IT community," said Tim Williams, president, Xerox Office Group. "Our focus on network connectivity, integration and innovation is recognized by leading independent testing organizations and customers alike."

Network Computing, published by CMP Media LLC, Manhasset, N.Y., is dedicated to providing critical analysis of technologies, vendors and products to 220,000 IT managers and staff who are accountable for strategic technology purchase decisions. For more information, visit www.networkcomputing.com.
