Systinet Ships Developer 5.5 for Eclipse, Simplifying the Creation of SOA-Ready Web Services

Business Wire, May 9, 2005

BURLINGTON, Mass. -- Latest Release of Free Product Supports Registry Publishing, WS-Interoperability Compliance Testing, and Creating Web Services with Reliable Messaging

Systinet, the leading software provider of the foundation for SOA governance and lifecycle management, today announced the release of Systinet Developer 5.5, the only product to extend the popular Eclipse Java IDE for creating, debugging, compliance testing and deploying standards-based Web services. The latest release of this free product includes full support for creating reliable Web services using the WS-ReliableMessaging specification and also supports compliance testing against the Web Services Interoperability (WS-I) Basic Profile. The latest version of Systinet Developer also enables the publishing of Web services to a UDDI V3 compliant registry, such as Systinet Registry, making each Web service SOA-ready.

Systinet Developer 5.5 is designed to make it easy to create, test, debug, deploy and publish Java Web services, all from within the familiar environment of the Eclipse IDE. Now, creating a Web service from an existing Java application is a point-and-click experience that takes a matter of minutes. The product supports the latest Web services standards, including WS-Security, WS-ReliableMessaging and WS-I Basic Profile, and automates the publication of a service to a UDDI-compliant registry. Systinet Developer is a companion product to Systinet's award-winning Systinet Server for Java, a platform- independent runtime environment. Systinet Developer is available free-of-charge to help customers in their first steps toward creating an SOA by offering tools for creating SOA-ready Web services. These services can then be discovered and governed by the Systinet Registry.

Systinet Developer 5.5 supports all versions of the Eclipse IDE, including the latest Eclipse 3.0 release. Since its original release there has been over 13,000 downloads of Systinet Developer. New features in the 5.5 release include:

--SOA-ready for Governance

A new feature that automatically checks that a Web service complies with the WS-I Basic Profile. The WS-I Basic Profile aims to provide a set of clear Web services interoperability conventions and best practices. Systinet Developer fully supports policy-based checks for both Web services' WSDLs and on wire SOAP messages to ensure compliance with WS-I Basic Profile.

--SOA-ready for Reliable Messaging

Allows for the creation of Web services that support the WS-ReliableMessaging specification, which is widely promoted and recognized by industry leaders including Microsoft, IBM, BEA, TIBCO and Systinet. The goal of reliable messaging in Web services is to allow applications to send and receive messages simply, reliably, and efficiently even in the face of application, platform, or network failure.

--SOA-ready for Discovery and Management

Fully supports the publication of Web services to UDDI V3 compliant registries, making it easy to advertise and promote reuse of services across the entire enterprise SOA.

--Systinet Server for Java, 5.5

Support for all the advanced features and functionality found in Systinet Server for Java 5.5, the leading platform for creating enterprise-class Java Web services. Using Systinet Developer for Eclipse, developers can create secure, reliable and high-performance Web services from within the familiar environment of their Eclipse IDE, then automatically test and deploy them to Systinet Server for Java.
