LSSi Launches Ireland Database; The New Electronic Database of Telephone Listings Provides Full Coverage of Ireland's Residential, Government, and Business Listings
Business Wire, May 9, 2005
EDISON, N.J. -- LSSi Corp. (www.lssi.net), the world leader in developing and operating high-performance directory databases, has introduced a new electronic database of telephone listings for Ireland. LSSi's NDA(R) Ireland Database is available for use by telecom carriers and operator-service providers worldwide who supply Directory Assistance services to their own customers.

The new NDA Ireland Database comprises approximately 1.8 million business, residential, and government listings. To maintain its extremely high accuracy, the database is electronically updated every business day, with fresh, service-order-level data on listing additions, deletions, and changes throughout Ireland. LSSi also applies its proprietary database processes to enhance the listings with additional useful information, such as counties and postal codes. The result is highly accurate listings with the information richness that today's callers require.
According to Jack McMaster, LSSi's President and CEO, the new database provides carriers with additional competitive advantages, beyond the data's high accuracy and richness. "Our new Ireland Database lets directory operators search individual localities. This reduces the number of listings and screens the operator has to search, so operator work time is improved and the caller gets faster service. It is a major improvement over competitive databases that support only nationwide searches."
Carriers and operator service providers will find that initiating service from the new database is simple and straightforward. LSSi provides Directory Assistance workstation access to the NDA Ireland Database through standard industry protocols. Network requirements are minimal; carriers and operator service providers need only TCP/IP connectivity to either of LSSi's European-area data centers. These centers, which also serve as back-up data repositories for each other, are located in Redditch, England and Lamezia Terme, Italy.
