EFI SendMe Advances Capabilities of Ricoh Systems for the Office; SendMe Delivers Superior Productivity and Greater ROI to Ricoh Office Environments
Business Wire, May 9, 2005
FOSTER CITY, Calif. and WEST CALDWELL, N.J. -- EFI (Nasdaq:EFII), the world leader in digital imaging and print management solutions for commercial and enterprise printing, and Ricoh Corporation, the leading provider of digital office equipment, today announced that Ricoh will integrate the EFI SendMe(TM) document capture and distribution solution with its line of Multifunctional Aficio systems. Ricoh offers SendMe to bring superior productivity and greater return on equipment investment to office environments, such as those in healthcare, insurance, financial, retail and legal markets.
SendMe users scan pages in full color, grayscale or black-and-white, and preview the digital files as thumbnails or full-page images in PDF, TIFF or JPEG format using a large, intuitive touch-screen interface. Documents are immediately available via e-mail, ftp, online repository or through a fax server. SendMe's delivery capabilities offer significant cost savings compared to the traditional delivery methods, overnight service, faxing, and postal mail.
SendMe will work with Ricoh GlobalScan(TM) network scanning technology and Multifunctional Aficio systems to enable efficient electronic document distribution across the enterprise. GlobalScan software attaches any scanned document to an email and seamlessly routes it to individual email addresses or groups in a user's address book. In conjunction with GlobalScan, SendMe will seamlessly integrate into any Ricoh Multifunctional Aficio document management system and allow user interface customization with API scripting and an easy-to-use administrator's application. The SendMe-Ricoh solution is designed to save steps and deliver documents electronically in minutes.
GlobalScan enables organizations deploying many of the top tier Enterprise Document Management (EDM) platforms to turn paper-based documents to electronic information. GlobalScan integrates SendMe-enabled Ricoh MFPs and EDM systems and enables customers to readily preview, capture, and manage paper-based information. With GlobalScan, MFPs become distributed scanning stations that efficiently store documents to the EDM platform. All GlobalScan plug-ins are dynamic, meaning any changes to the EDM system, profiles, permissions, or folders are realized in real-time at the MFP, no additional administration required.
To further enhance customer productivity and provide a streamlined workflow among hybrid components, SendMe comes with bundled connectors to the following workflow solutions:
Equitrac Professional, a suite of integrated software and hardware products that provides comprehensive cost recovery capabilities;
OmTool AccuRoute, a records management program that saves time and money by automating the manual tasks of records management and by providing greater efficiency in tracking and managing files;
Captaris RightFax, a leading enterprise fax and e-document delivery solution that achieves significant cost reduction by integrating and automating business information.
"This new integration expands the already prodigious EFI-Ricoh relationship, and we are pleased to now provide our customers with SendMe and the means to boost office productivity and profitability," said Hede Nonaka, vice president, marketing, Ricoh Corporation. "SendMe provides advanced technology in an easy-to-use, kiosk-style interface that will save our customers time and money while streamlining document distribution and management."
"Ricoh and EFI are both companies that define our own success by how greatly we contribute to our customers' success," said Frank Mallozzi, vice president of worldwide sales and marketing, EFI. "SendMe in the Ricoh office environment is designed to provide efficiencies that greatly enhance the bottom line for high- and mid-volume customers. These customers join the more than 12 million users worldwide benefiting from EFI technology."
Facilitating the advancement of the companies' combined solution is EFI's participation in the Ricoh Developer Program as a Premier Plus Member. Designed to meet the needs of application developers, Premier Plus Membership provides EFI with the highest level of essential tools, support, and training to readily integrate SendMe and Ricoh solutions.
