LexisNexis Names Christopher Ainsley Senior Vice President for Strategy & Business Development

NEW YORK -- LexisNexis, a global leader in legal, news and business information, today announced the appointment of Christopher Ainsley as senior vice president, strategy and business development, LexisNexis Group (LNG), effective November 1, 2005. Previously, he was president and CEO of Wolters Kluwer Health, a $750 million business. LexisNexis is a member of the Reed Elsevier Group plc, a world-leading publisher and information provider.
Ainsley will report directly to Andrew Prozes, chief executive officer of LexisNexis Group and a Reed Elsevier board member. He will be based in LNG's New York City office.
"The LexisNexis strategy is focused on providing integrated information solutions that help organizations manage their business, develop clients, and make better decisions," said Prozes. "The caliber of Christopher's background and experience will be a tremendous benefit to further enhance this strategy and our development efforts."
Ainsley will be responsible for building on the success of the LexisNexis global strategy, including positioning the company as a global information leader in developing online markets, including markets in Asia and Latin America.
After joining CCH as Head of Strategy in 1992, Ainsley assumed positions of increasing responsibility with CCH and its parent company, Wolters Kluwer, including strategy, publishing and general management roles in the U.S. and internationally. He spent the early part of his career in technology consulting with Arthur Andersen and strategy consulting with Boston Consulting Group and Booz Allen & Hamilton. Ainsley is a native of the United Kingdom, where he earned an undergraduate degree from Oxford University prior to receiving a Master's of Business Administration degree from Harvard Business School.
