TEC International Honors Bay Area Business Leader; John Walker of Los Altos Wins Don Cope Memorial Award
Business Wire, Nov 11, 2005
SAN DIEGO -- TEC International recently named John Walker of Los Altos, Calif., the recipient of the Don Cope Award. The honor is presented annually to a "Chair" (group facilitator), who has contributed to the organization by being an outstanding supporter of the TEC mission in word and deed.
TEC International, the world's largest CEO membership organization, represents more than $307 billion in annual revenues and more than 1.8 million employees.
Serving as a TEC Chair since 1986, Walker currently leads four groups in the San Francisco Bay Area. Prior to joining TEC, Walker had 15 years of CEO and general management experience in a variety of industries.
"It is this background and experience, along with his superb listening, facilitation and coaching skills that has enabled John to deliver a superior TEC experience to members year in and year out," said Rafael Pastor, CEO and Chairman of the Board at TEC International.
Pastor made the remarks at the recent 2005 International Leaders Conference held in Washington, D.C.
"The Don Cope Award is about more than high performance as a Chair. Over the years, John has served the TEC organization in many ways as a presenter, coach and mentor. He gives selflessly of his time and energy to help others. For nearly two decades, he has been instrumental in the growth and development of TEC in the Bay area," said Pastor.
