TEC International Honors Michigan Speaker; Bob Thomson of Niles Wins Speaker of the Year Award
Business Wire, Nov 11, 2005
SAN DIEGO -- TEC International recently named Bob Thomson of Niles, Mich., the recipient of the Maurice Mascarenhas TEC Speaker of the Year Award. The honor is presented annually to one speaker exemplifying continual, outstanding education and learning.
TEC International, the world's largest CEO membership organization, represents more than $307 billion in annual revenues and more than 1.8 million employees.
Thomson has spent more than 40 years working with CEOs and senior managers on their growth and development and that of their key employees. Thomson was previously director of management development programs at Virginia Tech, corporate secretary of Clark Equipment Company, and before that held various senior human resource positions with Clark, Bendix, Ford and General Motors.
Prior to his semi-retirement in 1999, Thomson was a TEC Chair (group facilitator) in Florida. He served as a TEC regional manager and has been a popular speaker before TEC members for 30 years, presenting to almost 600 groups.
"This speaker is chosen not just on ratings and number of times spoken, although these are important criteria," said Rafael Pastor, CEO and Chairman of the Board for TEC. "More important, we honor our speakers of the year for their consistently high value, their dedication and contributions to the TEC organization as a whole."
Pastor made the remarks at the recent 2005 International Leaders Conference held in Washington, D.C.
