Business Wire, Nov 15, 2005
SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- Juniper Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ:JNPR) today announced that Chunghwa Telecom (CHT), Taiwan's largest telecommunications service provider, is using the Juniper Networks T-series core routing platform to expand the capacity of its core network. To meet increasing demand for its HiNet DSL service and its fiber to the building (FTTB) initiative, CHT chose to expand its network with the T-series for its IP/MPLS multiservice scalability and its industry leading performance and reliability.
"The Juniper Networks T-series combines proven reliability with leading scalability and a best-in-class feature set," said Eric Lin, Taiwan country manager, Juniper Networks. "As Taiwan's top ISP, tremendous volumes of data flow through CHT's core routers and they needed to ensure that these services are delivered to their customers with assured levels of performance and reliability."
An existing Juniper customer, CHT currently relies on a range of Juniper Networks routing solutions throughout its network, and the Juniper platforms have played a key role in supporting CHT's impressive growth. Juniper Networks E-series Broadband Services Router support many of CHT's 3 million broadband subscribers, delivering advanced broadband services at scale and with assured quality of service for a range of applications. CHT has also deployed the M-series Multiservice Edge Router throughout its network, relying on its advanced MPLS and VPN capabilities.
Both the M- and the T-series benefit from JUNOS, the only operating system that combines proven reliability with a wide range of cutting-edge features and applications. Shipping since April 2002, the T-series is currently deployed in more than 100 service provider production networks worldwide.
Together, the E-, M-, and T-series routing platforms form the foundation for delivering a wide ranged of advanced services, such as video on demand, VoIP, and integrated service bundles.
"We have had an excellent relationship with CHT through the years, and we are pleased that CHT has again chosen Juniper Networks routing platforms to enable them to meet their growing customer demands," said Adam Judd, vice president of Asia Pacific for Juniper Networks.
