Business Wire, Nov 16, 2005
FREMONT, Calif. -- VividLogic Inc., a leading provider of Digital Home Entertainment Infrastructure software, announces completion of its Series A funding round of $3 million led by Constellation Ventures, a Bear Stearns Asset Management family of venture capital funds.
VividLogic is a privately held company, headquartered in Fremont, CA. The company enjoys a significant market share in High Definition TV (HDTV) and Set-Top-Box (STB) network infrastructure, with software deployed in leading CE and STB company products from Samsung, Mitsubishi, RCA, Pioneer, Hitachi and Scientific Atlanta.
VividLogic's FireBus software provides HDTV and STB with the infrastructure to intelligently connect and transfer digital content to one or more networked devices while simultaneously protecting the content from being illegally copied by using 5C content protection scheme.
The company plans to use the funding to accelerate deployment and expand product development and sales channels. Coincident with the closure of the funding round, VividLogic announces that Clifford H. Friedman of Constellation Ventures has been added to its Board of Directors.
"We are delighted to see the commitment and confidence shown by Constellation Ventures, a leading media, communications and technology focused family of venture capital funds, and very pleased to add Cliff Friedman to our Board," said Shiva Patibanda, CEO of VividLogic. "The new funding will allow us to further enhance our product reach and serve a wider range of customers and partners."
"We believe that VividLogic has the opportunity to exhibit significant growth as the cost of High Definition Television Sets, Set Top Boxes, and Next Generation Consumer Electronics devices continue to decline as volume dramatically increases," said Cliff Friedman of Constellation Ventures. "We are quite pleased to have VividLogic leverage the Constellation Ventures family of portfolio companies and strategic relationships to help drive continued growth."
