Cardinal Bank Names Kathleen Walsh Carr President of Cardinal Bank Washington

TYSONS CORNER, Va. -- Cardinal Bank is pleased to announce that Kathleen Walsh Carr has joined the company as President of Cardinal Bank Washington. Cardinal Bank plans to open its first Washington office by the end of 2005 at 1776 K Street, the corner of 18th and K Streets.
Ms. Carr was most recently President and CEO of The Abigail Adams National Bank and director of The Abigail Adams National Bancorp. She served in that role from 1998 to 2005, growing the organization to $258 MM in assets.
Carr, a native Washingtonian, started her banking career at the National Bank of Washington. She has more than 30 years of experience in the commercial lending and private banking arenas and was a senior vice president at Nationsbank, now Bank of America, before joining The Adams National Bank.
Ms. Carr has long been active in the Washington business and civic community. She became a Class A Director of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond in January of 2005 and is serving a three year term. Ms. Carr is on the board of directors of the Chevy Chase Land Company and Royco, Inc. and is also a member of the board of Washington Trustees for the Federal City Council. In May of 2004, she won the DC Chamber of Commerce's Crystal Leadership award. Carr was honored in 2005 by the YMCA of Metropolitan Washington for her community service.
