Redback Customer PowerCom Receives InfoWorld 100 Award for Technology Innovation; PowerCom Recognized for Innovation in Broadband over Power Line Deployment Using Redback's SmartEdge Platform

(NASDAQ:RBAK), a leading provider of next-generation broadband networking systems, today announced that PowerCom Network Hong Kong Ltd. was a winner in this year's InfoWorld 100 Awards for its broadband over power line (BPL) deployment built on Redback's SmartEdge(R) Service Gateway.

PowerCom plans to offer IPTV and video on demand through their BPL network, as well as use Redback's subscriber management capabilities to provide personalized broadband services to customers who were previously unable to receive service. Redback's SmartEdge combines advanced broadband aggregation and subscriber management functionality with IP edge routing for PowerCom to enable next-generation service delivery.
