Business Wire, Nov 18, 2005
HONG KONG -- High-performance converged TDM/IP solution chosen to connect nation-wide 3G network
Redline Communications Inc., a leading provider of standards-based broadband wireless equipment, today announced its AN-30e converged TDM/IP wireless broadband product has been chosen to connect a nation-wide 3G network by VIBO Telecom, one of the largest 3G network operators in Taiwan.
VIBO is using Redline's AN-30e units to provide high-bandwidth wireless backhaul for its Ericsson product-based 3G network and plans to install additional Redline AN-30e links to expand its network for nationwide coverage. The 3G network enables VIBO customers to access voice, video and data communications via mobile handset devices anywhere within its service area. The Redline AN-30e allows VIBO to easily manage high traffic volumes as the number of subscribers grows.
"Redline's wireless broadband solutions have enabled us to respond quickly to this demand because of its ease of deployment," said Mr. J. Y. Peng, Vice President, VIBO Telecom. "The AN-30e delivers the performance required to support the delivery of more advanced applications and services for our customers. In addition, the AN-30e is field upgradeable, and does not require a hardware change for upgrades, enabling efficient expansion of our cellular networks."
"Major carriers have recognized the potential for wireless broadband to enable them to increase the variety of services to their customers, capitalize on the convergence of TDM and IP that is quickly occurring in the industry, and to easily expand their networks to cover larger geographic areas," said Keith Doucet, Vice President, Marketing and Product Management, Redline Communication Inc. "We are excited to be chosen by VIBO as a technology solution behind this major 3G network."
Redline is showcasing its advanced solutions at the WiMAX pavilion at the 3G World Congress and Exhibition in Hong Kong from November 16 to 18, 2005.
Redline's AN-30e
The AN-30e is a carrier-grade TDM backhaul solution for mobility network and enterprise network operators. Operating in the 5.4 and 5.8 GHz unlicensed bands, the system is capable of long-range links exceeding 80 km (50 mi) in clear LOS conditions. Redline's proven AN-30e system is the ideal platform for migration to VoIP - capable of supporting up to eight T1/E1 circuits and mixed TDM/IP traffic applications. The AN-30e is an inexpensive alternative to leasing circuits and installing new wired services.
