Metropolitan Telecommunications Selects UTC Associates, Inc. to Develop VoIP Services; MetTel to Introduce Voice over IP Services on its BroadSoft VoIP Application Platform
Business Wire, Nov 21, 2005
NEW YORK -- Metropolitan Telecommunications d/b/a MetTel has engaged UTC Associates, Inc. to assist in the development and implementation of its Voice over IP product line. Providing technology, engineering, operations, marketing and sales support, UTC has been working closely with MetTel to create a full life cycle turn-key VoIP customer solution. MetTel is currently providing hosted Voice over IP services on its BroadSoft VoIP Application platform to select clients in New York and New Jersey, and plans to expand the introduction of its business-class VoIP services during 2006.
MetTel is one of the fastest growing full-service competitive local exchange carriers (CLECs) in the U. S. and is rapidly expanding from its regional base in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic areas to serve customers in all 48 states by the end of 2005. In order to keep pace with the requirements of its growing enterprise customer base, MetTel wanted to quickly develop and introduce its Voice over IP service offerings. The professional assistance provided by UTC Associates enabled MetTel to substantially reduce the time needed to bring a technology driven, complex product set to market.
"UTC Associates specializes in minimizing product development cycles and assisting service providers in meeting and realizing their market goals without re-inventing the wheel," said Aziz Ahmad, CEO of UTC Associates, Inc. "Purchasing equipment is only 20% of the solution. UTC helped MetTel with the other 80% as well. In addition to the product and the engine, in order to handle the demands and rapid growth of this ever-increasing VoIP market, a service provider also requires the processes and resources for implementation and system integration," Aziz continued.
Marshall Aronow, MetTel's CEO said, "UTC was like a VoIP Swat team; working with MetTel every step of the way. UTC not only understands how to design and deploy network infrastructure, but they also addressed the operational complexities from a service provider's perspective."
Scott Wharton, Vice President of Marketing for BroadSoft said, "MetTel is well positioned to successfully offer VoIP services as planned. UTC has consistently demonstrated leadership in helping service providers deploy VoIP offerings from product marketing, engineering design and operational support."
