American Defense Systems, Inc., is Awarded $7.6 Million Contract by TACOM for the Armoring of the Army's D7G Mine-Clearing Bulldozer

HICKSVILLE, N.Y. -- TACOM, the U.S. Army's Tank-automotive and Armaments Command, has awarded American Defense Systems, Inc. (ADSI), of Hicksville, New York with a $7.6 million 2 IDIQ contract for the supply of crew protection kits (CPK) for the U.S. Army's D7G mine-clearing/armor protection (MCAP) fully tracked, low speed, medium drawbar pull bulldozer. The versatile D7G MCAP is capable of mine and unexploded ordnance clearing tasks. The D7Gs shall be reinforced by ADSI's opaque armor and blast-resistant glass. The "up-armored" D7G's will enable construction and engineering crews stationed in harm's way to safely carry out their missions in theaters of operations where terrorists have targeted U.S. warfighters and civilian contractors with RPG strikes, suicide bombers, and manually and electronically triggered IEDs.
