FREDERICK, Md. -- Qovia, Inc., the technology and market leader in enterprise IP telephony management, today announced that Stephen P. Mank joined the company as chief operating officer (COO). Mr. Mank brings more than 25 years of executive management, marketing and strategic business development experience in networking and application systems and their associated management environments. His responsibilities at Qovia include strategic planning and development, product management and marketing, system test and verification, manufacturing, and customer support.

"Steve has specialized in helping to lead emerging growth companies into market-dominating positions," said David Woodall, CEO of Qovia. "Having worked with Steve several times, I know he is the ideal person to lead Qovia's strong customer-oriented focus on enterprise IP telephony management. His decades of frontline experience, as well as his vision, knowledge and established record of success in IP networking and application systems management, will help take Qovia to the next level."

"While IP telephony offers a wealth of benefits, it is essential that enterprises understand it's not simply another IP application. Without proper management that addresses the unique challenges of VoIP, enterprises will not realize the full potential of the technology," said Stephen P. Mank. "As COO, I will be a tireless advocate for real-time monitoring and management of live enterprise IP telephony calls. I am committed to building close, collaborative bonds with our current and future customers and plan to expand and continually improve the scope and quality of our products."

Prior to Qovia, Mr. Mank served as chief marketing officer for Panacya, devising and implementing the commercial launch and go-to-market strategy for the application server-based performance management startup. Before Panacya, he worked with Qovia CEO David Woodall as senior vice president of product operations at Trinagy, the leader in large scale network performance management, which was acquired by Hewlett Packard immediately prior to the company's planned IPO. Mr. Mank's previous employers include large public companies such as Motorola and Newbridge, public technology companies such as Xyplex Networks, Hayes Corporation, and Global Exchange, and consumer product companies including Bose Corporation. Mr. Mank earned a B.A. in The College of Social Studies from Wesleyan University and an MBA in Marketing Management and Finance from the University of Southern California.
