NFW Launches Watch Company Where Design, Engineering, Style and Attitude Collide
Business Wire, Nov 29, 2005
WESTPORT, Conn. -- NFW, LLC, announces the launch of its new company and men's watch line. NFW will breathe new life into the world of watches with bold, distinctive design, superior engineering and diverse watch features. The collection features twenty unique styles, each crafted with uncompromising attention to detail.
"I started this company filled with a passion to originate exquisitely-made watches to sell at an excellent value, without sacrificing quality, design or engineering. I'm deeply inspired by artists, craftsmen and entrepreneurs who've made no compromises to their products, their companies, or their aspirations to reach beyond the norm," said George J. Fox, founder of NFW. "As a result of this inspiration, I've created time pieces that are truly special, with distinctive designs guaranteed to make a bold fashion statement for every individual who wears them," Fox added.
The collection features four unique lines, each with different elements and details. All watches are built extremely well and have a specially-designed, red second hand with NFW's bold logo.
The chunky "Blok" line makes a bold statement with polished or gunmetal stainless steel cases and leather or suede bands. The classic, retro-military look of "Vector," features 3-hand day/date or chronograph movements. The sleek style of "Munich" has a contemporary feel with a twist of unexpected timelessness. The "Regulator" line, inspired by a combination of motor sports and nautical gear, rounds out the portfolio with rugged stainless steel bracelet bands and gunmetal ionic plating.
Unwilling to compromise any detail, Fox obsessed on every feature of every design until he was satisfied that the watches were of the utmost quality. NFW uses many of the same features found in much more expensive luxury watches. Some key features include:
--Extra thick, oiled Italian leather
--Anti-reflective coatings on hardened mineral glass crystals
--Superluminova (the ultimate in luminescence for watches)
--Screw-down crowns and casebacks for extra water-resistance
--Cases forged from solid blocks of the best 316L stainless steel
--High-quality, precision movements for accuracy and reliability
--Shock-resistant construction for durability
The watches are sold at specialty retailers with suggested retail prices ranging from $350 to $600. Each watch comes packaged in a metal box with a hinged lid and buckle closure creating a special presentation for each timepiece. The warranty is straight to the point - if there are any manufacturing defects within the first five years, NFW will take care of it free of charge. About NFW
NFW founder, George J. Fox, is a metal sculptor who started his own furniture design company that focused on metal designs. Eleven showrooms across the United States sold to high-end interior designers and, rumor has it, some celebrities (Madonna and Elton John). Fox then worked for ten years at a large watch company handling design and marketing. He started NFW because he sensed a need for watches that could make a fashion statement with attitude, which were manufactured with outstanding quality, yet also represented an excellent value.
