Business Wire, Oct 11, 2005
BEDFORD, Mass. -- Growing Sporting Goods Retailer Leverages ERP-Integrated Solution to Become a More Scalable Finance Organization, Cut Costs and Strengthen Internal Controls
170 Systems, the leading provider of solutions that optimize financial transactions, today announced that Sportsman's Warehouse, one of the nation's fastest-growing sporting goods retailers, has implemented 170 MarkView(R) throughout its finance and human resources departments. By leveraging the solution's accounts payable (A/P) and human resources (HR) functionality, the outdoor sporting goods retailer is able to capture and manage information assets online, while seamlessly integrating this content with the company's Oracle e-Business Suite. With 170 MarkView, Sportsman's Warehouse is now able to align the company's finance organization with its business growth objectives, ensuring cost-effectiveness, timely processing and the strengthening of internal controls.
"Our organization continues to employ a very aggressive store growth campaign for the next two years," said Rourk Kemp, CFO of Sportsman's Warehouse. "As a result, we needed to implement a technology solution that would allow our finance organization to scale accordingly, without the need to increase head count. We chose the 170 MarkView solution to provide us with that capability, while allowing us to reduce costs at the same time."
Sportsman's Warehouse has implemented the 170 MarkView for Accounts Payable solution, which provides the following capabilities and benefits:
--Capture all invoice related information, regardless of the original format or source, and associate it with the Oracle e-Business Suite transaction record, enabling professionals throughout the organization to access the necessary information;
--Increase control and visibility, helping to prevent and detect losses due to inaccurate processing;
--Reduce cycle times, document transport requirements and the need for physical storage space, cutting costs and increasing operational efficiency.
"Achieving world-class financial transaction processing is a top priority for Global 2000 companies, and they are constantly looking for technology solutions that will enable them to reach that goal," said Dave Ellenberger, CEO of 170 Systems. "Companies such as Sportsman's Warehouse are leading the way by selecting our 170 MarkView solution, which allows them to leverage their existing ERP systems, while improving the efficiency of their financial operations and reducing costs."
In addition to implementing the 170 Systems' Accounts Payable solution, Sportsman's Warehouse is leveraging 170 MarkView for Human Resources to automate HR processes by capturing, managing and integrating offline documents within the structured data files of the retailer's existing HR systems. Sportsman's Warehouse is also able to optimize HR business processes, which allows for quicker audit and self-service capabilities. As a result, the outdoor sporting goods retailer is able to reduce the need for clerical support and improve overall employee satisfaction.
