Prior to joining Sendmail, Stone served as vice president of worldwide marketing for Check Point Software Technologies, the recognized leader in perimeter, internal and web security. During her five-year tenure at Check Point, Stone helped the company position itself beyond perimeter firewall solutions, launching product lines in the endpoint, SSL VPN, and the intrusion prevention security markets. She also worked closely with customers and partners all over the world in driving coordinated, global marketing campaigns.
Previously, Stone was vice president of marketing at Fujitsu Technology Solutions, where she was responsible for server products. Stone held other positions during her nine-year tenure at the company in both the server and storage lines of business. Before that, Stone managed systems engineering at data storage company Storage Technology Corporation.
"Carol not only has a strong track record of leading successful global marketing campaigns, but also has a wealth of experience in executing strategic marketing initiatives that have industry-wide impact," said Dave Anderson, Sendmail president and CEO. "Additionally, her expertise in Internet security issues and technologies will be key as she leads the charge in strengthening Sendmail's position within the email security market."
"Today more than ever, enterprises depend on email as an integral part of their business processes. They require solutions that are secure, dependable and compliant," said Carol Stone, Sendmail vice president of worldwide marketing. "What attracted me to Sendmail is its innovative approach to helping customers trust and rely on email to run their business. Too many products on the market today focus on trying to solve individual email problems without addressing the larger requirements for email security and infrastructure. I look forward to working with the company's talented management team in furthering Sendmail's global market penetration."
Stone did graduate work in computer science at Villanova University and has a BA in mathematics from Goucher College.
