Insight Venture Partners Hires Lawrence Handen as Managing Director; Handen to Support Growth and Momentum of Fund V Investments

NEW YORK -- Insight Venture Partners, a leading venture capital firm exclusively focused on the global software and Internet services industries, today announced that Lawrence "Larry" Handen has joined the firm as a Managing Director. Mr. Handen will be responsible for deal flow execution and management in Insight's newly launched Insight Venture Partners V.
"Larry has more than 15 years of experience as a principal investor and advisor in the technology industry, and we are pleased to have him join the management team," said Jeff Horing, co-founder and managing director at Insight Venture Partners. "He will be an important part of our growth and the success of Insight Venture Partners Fund V."
Mr. Handen was previously a managing director at VantagePoint Venture Partners, where he managed investments in the software, internet and media sectors. Prior to joining VantagePoint, he was a General Partner at UBS Capital where he led the firm's Technology & Services Group, serving on the Board of Directors for more than 15 companies. Before joining UBS Capital, Larry was a Partner with PricewaterhouseCoopers Consulting, now IBM Global Services. He holds an MBA from NYU's Stern School of Business and he received a BA in economics and political science from Bucknell University.
