Business Wire, Oct 12, 2005
HOUSTON -- Scalable Software, a leader in IT compliance and asset management solutions for the business management of IT, announced today that the U.S. Department of Interior (DOI) renewed their contract and will expand their Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) compliance initiatives using Command Center Federal. The DOI will use the product to address multiple regulatory requirements required by FISMA, the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) and the General Accounting Office (GAO).
"The renewal of this contract is yet another testament to the expertise and skills the Scalable Software team brings to federal agencies," stated Scalable Software's vice president of compliance solutions, Patrick McBride. "Like all federal agencies, the DOI is obligated to comply with FISMA and our Command Center Federal product helps by strengthening their security program and automating critical compliance tracking and reporting functions."
Command Center Federal is also used by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. The corporate product, Command Center, is used by numerous Fortune 500 companies and financial institutions such as State Street Bank, Humana and KeySpan Energy. The commercial system is also offered under reseller agreements with market leaders like BindView and NetVision.
"Scalable's newly released self-assessment module will enable the DOI to implement an automated assessment process and integrated POAM tracking to help streamline FISMA reporting to OMB and Congress among other required mandates," said McBride.
Command Center Federal provides several modules aimed at automating key security program and compliance management tasks including:
--Policy and awareness management
--Vulnerability, patch alerting and tracking
--Certification and accreditation milestone tracking
--Plan of Action and Milestones (POAM) tracking
--OMB reporting automation and metrics.
Additionally, the system includes a secure, version-controlled, auditable repository for all program and system-level security policy documentation and a comprehensive library of security policies, standards, technical standards and process and procedure templates.
