ALEXANDRIA, Va. -- Please replace the release with the following corrected version due to multiple revisions.
The corrected release reads:
U.S. DEPARTMENT OF THE INTERIOR AWARDS CONTRACT TO POTOMAC MANAGEMENT GROUP
The U.S. Department of Interior's Indian Arts and Crafts Board (IACB) has awarded Potomac Management Group, Inc. (PMG) (www.potomacmgmt.com), a new contract to provide support in upgrading a database that tracks complaints of violations under the Indian Arts and Crafts Act as well as civil and criminal cases referred under the act to the FBI and the Department of Justice for action. The Indian Arts and Crafts Act is a truth and marketing law to protect consumers and Indian artists from being undermined by counterfeit production that is offered as genuine Native American artwork.
"This is an excellent opportunity for PMG to assist the U.S. Department of Interior in its mission and another validation of PMG's experience in providing IT consulting to federal agencies," remarked Jay Jayachandran, PMG's Vice President of Marketing. "PMG has an outstanding reputation in the federal sector for its management consulting, maritime consulting and security consulting experience. We also provide quality IT consulting for many federal clients. We are the best kept secret in this space," says Jay.
Counterfeit Indian arts and crafts are sold over the Internet through wholesale and retail establishments, powwows and a broad range of other sales avenues. The IACB receives complaints from individual Indians, Indian Tribes, businesses, consumers and other members of the public, as well as various state, federal, and local agencies. The IACB also coordinates civil and criminal enforcement to counter this illegal activity.
