Samsung Reaches Settlement with DoJ in Industry-wide DRAM Antitrust Investigation

SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Samsung Electronics Ltd. announced today that it and Samsung Semiconductor have reached an agreement with the United States Department of Justice Antitrust Division (DoJ) regarding a single charge related to the violation of U.S. antitrust laws in connection with pricing in its certain Dynamic Random Access Memory (DRAM) business. Consequently, with regard to the DoJ's ongoing industry-wide investigation, the matter has been fully resolved between Samsung and the DoJ.
Under the terms of the agreement, Samsung has agreed to pay a fine of US $300 million. Samsung strongly supports fair competition and ethical practices and forbids anti-competitive behavior.
