BusinessWeek Ranks Thunderbird among World's Best, No. 1 in Global Business; Two Latin American Publications Also Give Thunderbird High Marks
Business Wire, Oct 14, 2005
GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Three major international rankings are out, and Thunderbird, The Garvin School of International Management, is once again listed as one of the top business schools in the world. BusinessWeek magazine has issued its biannual rankings of the best EMBA and non-degree executive education programs in the world. The report ranks Thunderbird's EMBA program as No. 1 in "Global Business" and rates the school's non-degree executive education programs as No. 15 in "Best Custom Programs," and No. 16 in "Best Open Enrollment Programs."
In addition, two Latin American publications gave high marks to Thunderbird's Global MBA for Latin American Managers program. Expansion ranked Thunderbird's Latin American program No. 3 in Latin America, and Latin Trade ranked Thunderbird at No. 7. Over the last five years, Thunderbird has consistently been ranked as a leading provider of MBA programs for executives by most major ranking bodies, and as a world leader in the areas of global business and corporate education programs.
"We are pleased to be recognized once again as the world leader in global management education," said Thunderbird President Angel Cabrera. "The top marks received by our non-degree executive education programs reflect our close relationships with some of the world's top companies and our attention to practical, real-world education. We are also excited to be acknowledged as one of the top programs in Latin America, a region where we have a strong and growing presence and a huge network of alumni."
"The BusinessWeek rankings, based as they are on feedback from our corporate partners in Europe, Russia, Asia as well as the U.S., are a renewed confirmation of Thunderbird's ability to deliver innovative, world-class programs on a global scale," said Jerome Couturier, senior vice president of Global Operations, Corporate Partnerships & Executive Education.
BusinessWeek alternates each year between full-time and executive education programs, and will publish their next full-time program rankings in 2006. Last year, Thunderbird's full-time program was ranked among the world's best in "global scope" along with Harvard, Wharton and MIT.
Thunderbird is the oldest graduate management school in the United States focused solely on preparing graduates and executives for global leadership. Ranked among the best in the world by Financial Times, U.S. News & World Report, The Wall Street Journal and BusinessWeek, the school's unique curriculum is based on the principle that to do business on a global scale, executives must not only know the intricacies of business, but also understand the customs of other countries and be able to communicate with different cultures. More than 35,000 men and women in 138 different countries have graduated from Thunderbird since 1946. To learn more, visit http://www.thunderbird.edu.
